The Pie Chart widget displays data as slices of a circle, helping you understand how different categories contribute to the overall result.
You can use the Pie Chart to visualize Count, NPS, CSAT, or CES, depending on the selected data source and configuration. The widget supports Survey and Segments data sources, along with settings for display, value format, and theme.
The Pie Chart supports the following data sources:
The available metrics and configuration options depend on the selected data source.
When you select Survey, choose one survey and then select the metric you want to display.
Supported metrics are:
Count is supported with a single survey source. For NPS, CSAT, or CES, select a qualifying metric question.
You can refine the results using the date range and widget-level filters.
When you select Segments, there is no survey picker. Select one or more segments whose data you want to visualize.
Supported metrics are:
Count is not available with the Segments source. For supported metrics, values are calculated using responses in the selected segments. A separate metric question is not required.
Count is available only with a single survey source. Average and Custom Metric are not supported by the Pie Chart.
For a Survey source, a metric question is required for NPS, CSAT, and CES:
Count does not require a separate metric question.
For a Segments source, a separate metric question is not required because the supported metric is calculated from responses in the selected segment or segments.
By default, the Pie Chart uses the dashboard date range.
To set a separate date range for the widget, enable Use widget date filter and choose one of these options:
The default widget-specific date range is Last 30 days.
You can add up to 10 widget-level filter conditions. All conditions are applied together using an AND relationship.
Available filters depend on the selected data source and may include:
The widget date range is configured separately in the Configuration tab and does not count toward the 10-filter limit.
Dashboard filters apply to every widget on the dashboard. Widget-level filters can narrow the selected data, but they cannot expand it beyond the dashboard filter selection.
Dashboard filters can include:
You can configure up to 10 dashboard filters in addition to the date range. All applicable filters are applied together. When dashboard and widget filters affect the same data, only records that match both sets of conditions are included.
When Use widget date filter is enabled, the Pie Chart uses only the period shared by the dashboard date range and the widget date range.
If the date ranges do not overlap, the widget displays no data.
If the dashboard and widget filters produce no matching records, the Pie Chart displays an empty data state because no responses satisfy all applied conditions.
Use the Settings tab to customize the Pie Chart:
The available settings determine how the chart and its values are presented on the dashboard.
The value format setting controls how values are displayed in the Pie Chart.
Choose from the formatting options available for the selected metric to make the chart easier to read and interpret.
Yes. Use the Theme setting to customize the chart's visual appearance using the available theme options.
You can use the dashboard theme or select another supported theme to keep the chart consistent with your dashboard presentation.
The displayed values reflect the data remaining after the applicable dashboard filters, widget filters, and date range have been applied.
A Pie Chart displays data as slices of a circle to help compare categories or values.
A Donut Chart uses a similar circular visualization but includes a central area that can display a centre label. Choose the widget based on the visual presentation that best supports your analysis.
